Digital Textile Printing: Where is it heading?

Cambridge UK, 8th May 2014: Over the last decade, inkjet for textile printing has been introduced for a wide range of applications. Many of the technical and material challenges have been overcome, and the increasing emphasis on cost saving, manufacturing flexibility and following market trends is generating a resurgence of interest.

With the rapid growth of the textile and digital textile printing industry, companies need to be aware of the current markets, applications, and the technology involved in the success of Digital Textile Printing. Many manufacturing companies face challenges making the processes of ink jet designs production-capable, and this can be very time consuming if not thought through. The integration of inkjet within production lines also needs to be considered.

With this said, companies need to be educated about the textiles and print industry so they can adapt to the growth, which is why IMI Europe have organised an Inkjet Textile Printing Course to be held in Milan, Italy on Wednesday 18th June – Thursday 19th June, 2014.

Thomas Poetz from InkJet Textile 3T Consulting will give an overview of the existing digital print technology – textile printing. Another topic which will be covered is Digital Textile Inks where Dr Simon Daplyn, Sales Manager of Xennia Technology will go through the materials selection, dyes versus pigments, and designing ink for industrial printheads. Many manufacturers for textile printing are based in Italy, and so Paolo Torricella, Product Manager at Reggiani Macchine will discuss the integration for ink jet textile printing such as; Hardware integration, printhead technologies etc.
